What's Happening at Smith

Toiletry drive 11/15-11/29

Join Smith PTA and Helping Hands Pantry by donating new toiletries this holiday season.

Donation bin outside main office.

11/29 - after school we will put together packages that Helping Hand will then distribute. Donate and help us on November 29th immediately after school.

This committee is responsible for updating the bulletin board in the main hallway as you enter the school.

This committee is repsonsible for keeping and updating the by-laws as required by the State of NJ and Natioanl PTA

 
Admin - Class Parent Coordinator/New Family Outreach

Description:  

This administration function deals with communicating with class parents and with new families at Ann Blanche Smith School.

This committee is responsible for updating and helping with membership directories and membership drives and registrations.

Fundraising - Box Tops

Description:  

This committee is responsible for collection and accounting for box tops. Box tops are sent by mail to the main center.

 
Fundraising - Cards for a Cause

Description:  

This committee is responsible for arranging for promotion and sale of boxed greeting cards.

 
Fundraising - Community Dining night

Description:  

This committee is responsible for arranging with local merchants for a dining night where a portion of proceeds come back to the PTA.

This committee is responsible for  arranging for and distributuion of couopon book sales.

 
Fundraising - Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat

Description:  

This committee is responsible for arranging for a Trunk or Treat or Fall Festival activity uring the Halloween season.

This committee is responsible for running the annual fun run and pledges.

 
Fundraising - Plant Sale

Description:  

This committee is responsible for arrnging for and running the annual plant sale normally held the week before Mothers Day.

 
Fundraising - SCRIP Program

Description:  

This committee is responsible for arranging for several SCRIP sales throughout the year. SCRIP is a sale of gift cards in which the school makes a certain percentage of the sales.

 
Fundraising - Smith Night Out

Description:  

Smith Night Out is one of our biggest fundraisers. This committee does everything from solicitation of gifts, arranging for entertainment and venue, table arrangements, sale of tickets before and during the event, and much more.

 
Fundraising - Vendor Fair

Description:  

This committee is responsible for running a Vendor Fair where local merchants and businesses can show off their goods and services.

Description:  

This committee is responsible for putting together and running the after school Spring Enrichment Program held April-May.

Description:  

This committee is responsible for running a program held in classrooms where students create various projects to take home.

 
Programs - Green Team

Description:  

This committee is responsible for booking and running various programs to raise environmental awareness as well as running fall and spring planting projects with the 4th grade Green Team.

 
Programs - Winter Workshops

Description:  

This event is held jointly with all 3 lower level schools (Smith School, Meadowbrook and George White). The event is held on Staurdays at George White. This committee works with the other two schools to create a program that student will attend to overcome winter boredom!

 
Prorgams - Newspaper

Description:  

This committee is responsible for creating a bi-monthly newspaper with content created by students. This is distributed both electronically and on paper.

 
SC - Bagel Days
Chair:   Hope Andreesvski, Angela Salamone
Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group gathers together student orders for bagel during two of our 1/2 days.

 
SC - Clalp Out
Chair:   open
Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group solicites for funds and arranges for activities for the outgoing 4th grade class.

 
SC - Holiday Giving Tree
Chair:   Tobi Breslaw, Andrea Wasserman
Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group solicits for gift cards to be used for families in need around the holida seasons.

 
SC - K/4 Buddies
Chair:   Tara Loughlin, Rashella Roznitsky, Heather Witkowski
Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group pairs 4th grade students with incoming Kindergarten students, creating a buddy system whereby the younger new students have older students who can help and guide them, welcoming them into the Smith School Body.

 
SC - School Supplies

Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group arranges for supplies for all students to be delivered before the first day of school.

 
SC - Teacher Appreciation
Chair:   Rama Ginde, Khyati Mehra
Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group arranges for festivities for teachers and aides during teachers week in early May.

 
SC - Welcome Back Tea
Chair:   Amy Ellis, Stacie Salvatore
Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group arranges for supplies and food for our annual Welcome Back Tea held during the first day of school.

 
SC- PTA Luncheon

Description:  

As a standing committee (SC), this group arranges for food and setup for our annual final PTA luncheon usually held the last week of school.

 
SE - Book Fairs

Description:  

 As part of Special Events this committee arranges for serveral book fairs with Scholatic Books during the school year.

 

 
SE - Family Fun Night

Description:  

 As part of Special Events this committee setups up a special event for famlies to have a night out together. In the past they have arranged for a a Boulders Game in the Spring or a Jets game during football season.

 
SE - Holiday Boutique

Description:  

 As part of Special Events this committee arranges for a chance for kids to learn the gift of giving. Arrangements made for reasonably priced gift items to be at school and the children can shop for gifts for their family and friends.

 
SE - Movie Day

Description:  

 As part of Special Events this committee this committiee arranges with a local movie theater to have a special movie showing for students of our school near the end of our school year, during a half day.

 
SE - Spirit Wear

Description:  

 As part of Special Events, this committee arranges for procuring and distributing spirit wear at the beginning of the school year.

 
SE - Theater Week

 As part of Special Events, this committee helps with the performance and setup of our students during theater week.

 
SE - Variety Show

Description:  

 As part of Special Events this committee this group helps with the Variety Show and with refreshments at the event held once during school hours and once at night for families to attend,.
